This 1969 Fender Mustang Bass in Competition Orange with matching headstock is an all-original example that retains its factory pickups, potentiometers, and original hardshell case (OHSC). Built as a short-scale, right-handed Mustang with a 30" scale length, the bass shows period-correct appointments and the rare Competition Orange finish—one of the least common colorways for the Mustang, famously associated with players like Bill Wyman. The neck is original maple with rosewood fingerboard, and the instrument has its vintage setup and hardware, making it a faithful representation of Fender's late‑’60s student/offset bass design.
Cosmetically and mechanically intact, this Mustang is a good fit for collectors and players seeking an original late‑’60s Fender with an uncommon factory color. Note there looks to have been a sticker on the back at some point but that was fairly common back in the day. Exact specs: 30" short scale, original maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, original single-coil pickup configuration, original pots and electronics, original OHSC, right-handed. Features:
- Rare Competition Orange factory finish
- 30" short scale length for easy playability
- Original neck with vintage feel
- All-original electronics: factory pickup(s) and pots
- Includes original hardshell case (OHSC)
- Right-handed orientation
- Vintage Fender hardware and bridge assembly
